The Museum Needs You
Do you like history and want to get behind the scenes at the museum? Volunteering is a great way to do it! There is a lot to do to keep the museum in top shape and ready for visitors and researchers. We need the talents and enthusiasm of history lovers to help get involved with a whole range of projects and activities. At the museum, there are several areas that you can get involved in.
Docent: Do you like people and talking about history? Then becoming a docent at the museum is a perfect place for you. Volunteer docents give tours during open house hours on Wednesdays or when private tours have been arranged. Training on Clawson and the Clawson Historical Museum history will be provided.
Collections: Love working with objects that have their own story to tell? Taking care of the collections at the Clawson Museum would be a good fit for you. Collections volunteers get a hand on look at the pictures and materials that tell the story of Clawson. Cleaning the museum, helping the curator with research, and cataloging materials are just some of the things you could do as a collections care volunteer.
If you are interested in any of these roles, please contact the museum at 248.588.9169 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
