Board Appointment Policy
Code of Ordinance shall be amended as follows:
CHAPTER 2. – ADMINISTRATION
ARTICLE I. - IN GENERAL
Sec. 2-2. - Mayor Appointments.
A. The mayor shall have the sole authority to nominate members to various committees, commissions or boards created or established under this Code of Ordinances with the approval of the City Council.
B. Prior to such appointment, a resume or background information of each nominee considered for appointment shall be provided to the members of the council sufficiently in advance of any such action by the council on the mayor’s nominee.
C. Should any member of the council desire to meet any appointee(s), arrangements shall first be made to meet such person by all or any council person with advanced notice of such meetings available to all council persons’.
D. Those provisions in Section 34-75 pertaining to appointments to the Downtown Development Authority, shall be excluded from this Section 2-2.
DATE OF EFFECT.
The Clawson City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published as required by law; and this Ordinance shall take full force and effect ten (10) days after the date of publication.
This ordinance was adopted by the City Council of the City of Clawson at a meeting duly called and held on the 4TH day of April, 2017, and ordered to be published as prescribed by the law.
