Yard Waste Policy

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) takes a very active role in enforcing the ban on the disposal of yard waste (compost) into landfills. As a result, the City of Clawson will only except yard waste materials during the compost season.
The 2007 curbside compost collection season begins on Monday, April 9, 2007 and ends on Friday, December 14, 2007.
Residents that wish to dispose of any yard waste material after the December 14, 2007 deadline may drop off such materials at the Southeastern Oakland County Resource Recovery Authority located on Coolidge Hwy. in Troy. For further information call the Clawson DPW.
When a holiday occurs on a weekday, collection for remaining days of the week will be delayed one (1) day. Rubbish is NOT to be placed at the curb earlier than 6pm on the day preceeding collection.

Trash Pick-Up Schedule

As of July 1, 2007 Trash Pick-Up is on Wednesday — City Wide.

The city's new service provider is Tringali Sanitation. Please remember to not put your garbage out until between 5:00pm of the day before (Tuesday) and 7am. Refuse containers must be removed from the street curb by 7am of the following day.

A SOCCRA Reminder

Collection trucks may service your street at a different time of day.
NEW! Barbeque grills, lawn mowers, bicycles and other smaller metal items will now be collected for recycling with other large metal appliances. Please place these metal items next to your recycle bin.
