The objective of the Clawson Parks & Recreation Department is to offer residents a variety of recreation programs and activities for all age groups on a year-round basis.
Recreation programs and classes are held at the Hunter Community Center. Clawson offers a variety of recreation classes including aerobics, painting, gymnastics, karate, and bowling. A dance program sponsored by Premiere Plus was introduced in 1993 and holds an annual Recital each May. Special events are planned throughout the year such as the popular Halloween Party and the Daddy Daughter dance.
Teen Program for Clawson Middle School students called Plan-It Clawson is held at the community center and programs are planned by the Teen Council.
During the Summer months youngsters can enjoy the popular playground program along with the T-Ball program. Free outdoor concerts are held on Wednesday evenings June and July at the Clawson Park. And we are constantly working towards improving our city park.
No special membership is required to participate in the programs offered by the department. These services belong to you, every resident of the city of Clawson. We are committed to meeting your needs and satisfying your interests. For your own good health and well being, take advantage of the recreation opportunities offered in Clawson.
We are also proud to be part of the Oakland County Parks & Recreation!

Summer Of Health

Clawson Celebrates a Summer Of Health Kickoff — May 10.

The health and will-being of our community is of the utmost importance to all of us. For this reason, the City of Clawson and Oakland Community College Mobile Nurse Clinic have joined forces to host "Clawson Celebrates a Summer of Health", a health awareness and fitness campaign. Workshops, activities and special events are offered throughout the summer months to educate people on healthy lifestyle choices, introduce community resources and bring people together to have some fun!

A free Health Fair will kickoff the summer long program on Saturday, May 10 at Hunter Community Center, 509 Fisher Ct. between 9:00am — Noon. Oakland Community Community College Mobile Nurse Clinic will be on hand to perform a variety of free health screenings (min. charge for cholesterol) including blood sugar, blood pressure, body fat and mass. Health information will also be available for cancer, cardiac care, stress management, depression, nutrition and much more. Walmart will also be on hand to provide free vision testing along with Dr. Kuczynski of Clawson to provide some medical advice. Other participating agencies include HealthQuest Physical Therapy and Wellness Center (highlighting three free workshops), and the YWCA. A healthy snack will be provided to all participants by Whole Foods Market.

Attend the kickoff and register your whole family and start a program of better health. There are over 30 activities planned throughout the summer from walks and workshops, to family fun nights. A complete calendar will be provided upon your free registration. Register anytime after the program starts at Hunter Community Center. For more information call 248.589.0334.
