The objective of the Clawson Parks & Recreation Department is to offer residents a variety of recreation programs and activities for all age groups on a year-round basis.
Recreation programs and classes are held at the Hunter Community Center. Clawson offers a variety of recreation classes including aerobics, painting, gymnastics, karate, and bowling. A dance program sponsored by Premiere Plus was introduced in 1993 and holds an annual Recital each May. Special events are planned throughout the year such as the popular Halloween Party and the Daddy Daughter dance.
Teen Program for Clawson Middle School students called Plan-It Clawson is held at the community center and programs are planned by the Teen Council.
During the Summer months youngsters can enjoy the popular playground program along with the T-Ball program. Free outdoor concerts are held on Wednesday evenings June and July at the Clawson Park. And we are constantly working towards improving our city park.
No special membership is required to participate in the programs offered by the department. These services belong to you, every resident of the city of Clawson. We are committed to meeting your needs and satisfying your interests. For your own good health and well being, take advantage of the recreation opportunities offered in Clawson.
We are also proud to be part of the Oakland County Parks & Recreation!
