Whether you’ve lived here 50 years or just moved in last month, one of the first things that comes to mind when describing Clawson is how great it is to call this small town home. Just about everything is within walking distance; you recognize the same faces at community, school, and business activities. It’s easy to remember your neighbors and you find yourself taking responsibility for the business of government.
Clawson was named the safest city in Oakland County in 2004! Everyone, young and old, can feel comfortable walking, jogging, or biking throughout our friendly city, day or night. Clean, friendly neighborhoods surround our recently remodeled elementary schools, middle school and high school, that are within walking distance of most homes.
Our Police Department is a full service department and our fantastic volunteer Fire Department is trained in Advance Life Support. We support our own library, historical museum, huge city park, and many organizations, recreational activities for young and old, as well as our weeklong Fourth of July celebration that brings in people from all over Michigan!
From teachers to community leaders, to parents, neighbors and volunteers, everywhere you look it’s hard to find much to fault here and much to be grateful for and enjoy. Life is good in Clawson.
